- I'm not sure I understand Tesla's above description of this Supercharging locaiton.
It is actually in the city of Hawthorne, not Los Angeles. It is also in one of the parking lots
of the headquarters of both Tesla and SpaceX. I'm not sure where the Hawthorne Municipal Airport
is located as I did not see it around, but the Superchargers here are in the middle of a bussle
of SpaceX and Telsa Headquarters activity. Tesla and SpaceX employees were going every which way
on foot, on bicycles, and on electric utility carts, when I was there.

SpaceX welcomed home this past weekend the first Falcon 9 rocket that successfully landed on
its own by proudly displaying it as a historic monument in front of the company's Hawthorne,
California headquarters. The 156 foot first-stage rocket made history back in December of last
year when it guided itself back onto solid ground at Cape Canaveral, Florida where it originally
departed from. The mission which sent 11 Orbcomm communication satellites into space would mark
the first time SpaceX completed a vertical first stage landing without the rocket tipping over,
and bursting into flames.

The above are photos of that very same Falcon 9 Rocket displayed in front of the SpaceX and Tesla
Headquarters that I took on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, while I was charging my
2016 Tesla Model X P90DL at the Tesla Superchargers in Hawthorne, California.
Photo of what appears to be another rocket about to be shipped off for launch
sitting near SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California.
More fun thinks to do with liquid nitrogen besides cooling rockets.
